Bruneau, Kittie
 
Biography: Born October 12, 1929 in Montreal.

Education:

Studied at Montreal School of Fine Arts from 1946 till 1949. In 1950, established herself in France where she remained until 1958 studying and working at the famous Julian Academy of Fine Arts. In 1964, The Canadian Arts Council awarder her a special grant for the completion of ten large murals. In 1965, she etched her first plates with the Montreal Guilde Graphique and still remain faithfull to this mean of expression. She has spent a lot of years experimenting with various means of improving the end result of etching.All along her career, Kittie Bruneau has received many awards, grants, bursaries and other official recognitions. She has also shown many of her works in international prints biennales.Since 1956, solo or group exhibitions: La Galerie Libre - Montreal Museum of Contemporary Arts - Montreal Museum of Fine Arts - L'Art Franais - Maison des Arts de la Sauvegarde - National Gallery, Ottawa -Canadian Cultural Center, Paris. Her works are available in many canadian and american galleries.
