Coburn, Frederick S.
 
Biography: Born in 1891, in Upper Melbourne, Eastern Townships.

Education:
During his childhood, he drew horses. He studied at the Ecole des arts et métiers in Montreal and under Carl Hecker in New York City. During a stay in Europe, he worked with masters in Berlin, Munich, Paris, London and Antwerp.

Career:
He has been living in Antwerp for 20 years. Working at first as an illustrator, he specialized in the painting of horses and bull's teams that brought him fame and fortune. In 1927, Coburn became a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and in 1941 of the Pen and Pencil Club of Montreal.
He passed away in 1960.
